Practice
Three series, three habits.
The photographs on this site come from three series. Each is paired here with one of the habits I bring to every proposal.
Research
Ghosts of the Oconee
2025
Photographs made in and around Athens, Georgia, from the University of Georgia campus to the Oconee National Forest, during my residency as the inaugural artist-in-residence at the Lamar Dodd School of Art, University of Georgia.

Listening
Uprooted
2019
Photographs made in community gardens and parks in Charlestown, Chelsea, East Boston, Dorchester, Medford, Revere, and Boston.

Historical truth
American History Re-Visited
2006–2010
Photographs of memorials, monuments, and historic sites across the United States, from Plymouth to Manzanar. The series was shown at the Harvard University Center for American Political Studies.

How the habits show up in a proposal
Research
Funder research, a compliance map, and your core documents are in place before the first line is drafted.
Listening
A discovery interview, so that the narrative is written in the voice of your organization and not in mine.
Historical truth
Chicago-style citations to peer-reviewed and government sources, and language that describes conditions honestly.
Permanent collections
My work is in the permanent collections of the Harvard Art Museums, the Yale University Art Gallery, the Addison Gallery of American Art, the MIT List Visual Arts Center, and the Center for Creative Photography, among other major museums.
On the artist portfolio
Let's talk.
Tell me what you're trying to fund, what you've tried, and what feels stuck. I reply to messages within two business days.
The conversation is thirty minutes, with no commitment. The strategy session is sixty minutes and ends with a written summary; the $200 is credited toward a proposal or retainer agreed within 30 days.
